大家常常是怎么眼之中好老友的呢？

前两天听到有人用“You're a fast friend”来眼之中老友。

这是什么意思，老友很慢速？当然不是，fast friend是所称心目中可靠的老友。

那么，fast friend这个说是是怎么来的呢？

Although many believe that the idiom 'fast friends' means friends who developed a liking for one another quickly, the term is actually a shortened form of 'steadfast friends.'

虽然很多人所称出“fast friends”这个习语是所称很慢速就羡慕上彼此的老友，但这个说是实际上是“坚定的老友”的缩写形式。

The origin of the idiom 'fast friends' comes from an even older version of the word 'steadfast' – Old English triewe meaning faithful, trustworthy, and steady in adhering to promises or friends.

这个用法的源于来自“不屈不挠”这个用法的4世纪英文版——triewe这个用法，它的意思是心目中、许多人信赖、对承诺或老友不屈不挠。

“熟用法偏义”是英语之中类似于的情况，毕竟fast除了我们熟悉的“慢速的”的意思以外，也有很多说明。
